ONE: We had moved into town to this older ranch with a porch that every time it rained water would puddle on its concrete floor. For a while, it was a nuisance. But as it dried shapes emerged and I started seeing things. And I got into creative sweeping. It was yet another lesson in serendipitous subject matter. A Paul Strand moment comes to mind, “The World on my Doorstep,” literally.

TWO: These are from my everyday takes but a little different. I do have a workflow process and typically everything starts with Snapseed followed by other phone apps that add texture, a particular tone, clone and retouch and one that’s a mini Photoshop with adjustment layers. I had rarely used Photoshop for phone edits. However, I recently upgraded to a newer Macbook and finally signed on to the subscription version of PS. I had been using CS5 until 5 months ago. This website is a Photoshop project..

THREE: Closeup was one of my earliest interests in photography. I was using Nikon cameras back then and had the infamous 55mm Micro-Nikkor. I still have that lens. These are recently taken all with an iPhone except # 10 and 17. Those are with a Canon dslr and macro lens
